Overview

To elevate the look and feel of a casino owned and operated by the Puyallup Tribe in Tacoma Washington. A memorable aspect of the casino's brand mark is implemented that can also be utilized to tell a story through a unique set of souvenir pieces.

Approach

The Puyallup Tribes' longevity can be attributed to their resilience in utilizing everything around them for survival. Fresh water flowing from Mt. Rainier brought plentiful salmon and fed the land to become a cultural cornucopia; paired with the resourcefulness of the Puyallup People comes a unique and memorable souvenir set that tells their story.

Research

To capture the look and feel of nature-driven design. Inspiration from the Puyallup People's angler lifestyle and colorful surroundings brings the use of an aluminum tin for the cardholder, choice of wooden poker chips, and color.

The aluminum tin nods towards the fishing element of the tribes' culture while the colors emphasize the fresh water and rich environment. Using wooden poker chips also pays homage to their excellent woodworking and craft skills.
